When I started out on my journey of changing my life I read and was bowled over by the Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel.
This wonderful book was among the first books to use the phrase Law of Attraction, which has become such a popular term today- when referring to the most powerful force in the Universe. It teaches in depth what we need to know about Personal power, metaphysics and how to be prosperity conscious.
The Author Charles Haanel, (1866 – 1949) leaves no stone unturned when it comes to the subjects he covers in the Master Key System. With precision he sheds light on each topic with logic and a stern grip on his subject that not only leaves you feeling good, but also thinking good.
Rumor has it that while Bill Gates was attending Harvard University he discovered and read the Master Key System, it was this book that inspired the founder of Microsoft to drop out of the University and pursue his dreams of “a computer on every desktop” we all know the rest of the story!
It also is Silicon Valley’s secret that almost every entrepreneur who made a fortune in recent years did so by studying the words Charles Haanel transcribed around 100 years ago!
Almost every millionaire and billionaire in the Valley read the Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel. This book became a hot commodity in the Valley. (You can read it for free on PsiTek)
I was absolutely fascinated with this book and although for some it is hard to get your head around, being written a hundred years ago, I found the more you re-read it the more it sinks in, and eventually for me, it really became clear to what he is presenting. However, even through the first reading it certainly gives credence to a new viewpoint on how we should move forward with our thoughts.
Thought is energy. Active thought is active energy; concentrated thought on a definite purpose becomes power. This is the power which is being used by those who do not believe in the virtue of poverty, or the beauty of self-denial. They perceive that this is the talk of weaklings. Charles Haanel, The Master Key System.
Charles Haanel teaches that we have to recognize this powerful energy and use it with a belief that we can bring to our life exactly what we desire if we change our thoughts and more so, our beliefs to correspond with these truths that he teaches.
These truths start with recognizing the vast power of our subconscious mind compared to our conscious mind.
The value of the subconscious mind is enormous; it inspires us; it warns us; it furnishes us with names, facts and scenes from the storehouse of memory. It directs our thoughts, tastes, and accomplishes tasks so intricate that no conscious mind, even if it had the power, has the capacity for. Charles Haanel, The Master Key System.
Charles Haanel teaches that we must have a clear understanding of, at least, the basic principles of these two functions on a mental plane, to move forward through this journey of self empowerment. Our conscious mind is the director of our subconscious mind. Our subconscious mind does what it is told, it does not have the ability to alter the program, only the conscious mind can do that.
However the subconscious mind is a million times more powerful than the conscious mind because it is powered from the Universal mind, which is infinite power. This is why we get stuck in our old ways of thinking because the subconscious mind is so powerful. So if we only use a small effort to change our thoughts and we do not really focus and concentrate on bringing what we desire into our lives, we will not be able to succeed.
In other words if there is only a little effort in changing our thoughts we will keep dipping into that old thought system that is already programmed, and that old program will not change unless we do it with focus and effort.
The subconscious mind draws just and accurate inferences from premises furnished from outside sources. Where the premise is true, the subconscious mind reaches a faultless conclusion, but, where the premise or suggestion is an error, the whole structure falls. The subconscious mind does not engage in the process of proving. It relies upon the conscious mind, “the watchman at the gate” to guard it from mistaken impressions. Charles Haanel, The Master Key System.
The author uses the term, “the watchman at the gate” to bring us to the understanding that we really do need to guard our inner being from outside opinions and beliefs that are misleading, and can harm us. We are taught that suggestions of fear, hatred, self-devaluation, and minimization of our worth in any manner is dangerous to our physical and mental health, so this is why we have to be the watchman over what we allow to enter our subconscious.
To guard our subconscious is to change the way we have perceived our life up until this point in time, and to do this we have to overcome those old beliefs by using strong affirmations. We use these by repeatedly saying counter suggestions such as: “I am powerful and worthy, and I allow all that is good to enter my life.” Make the statements powerful.
When you say them believe in what you are putting out there because that is exactly what you are doing, confirming to the universe that you are now changing the way you feel about yourself and your life, that you are worthy–because you are, we all are, no exception to that.
Louise Hay is the queen of affirmations, most any book of hers will give you numerous affirmations that you can use.
The subconscious mind cannot argue controversially. Hence, if it has accepted wrong suggestions, the sure method of overcoming them is by the use of a strong counter suggestion, frequently repeated, which the mind must accept, thus eventually forming new and healthy habits of thought and life, for the subconscious mind is the seat of Habit. Charles Haanel, The Master Key System.
Charles Haanel suggestion is well worth our most earnest study. To gain a familiarity with these two principles allow us to set forces to operate the way we would design our life to be. I have found that once I got a clear understanding of this power that I was able to change many circumstances in my life. I have used this and still use these principles that he outlined in his book, in my own life daily, and see wonderful changes taking place constantly.
The Master Key System is written in 24 lessons. The idea behind this is to read one chapter at a time and let it sink in for a week and then read the next the following week. There are many exciting lessons to learn from Charles Haanel’s writings and much to channel into so this is definitely a subject matter to be continued…
The subconscious mind perceives by intuition. Hence, its processes are rapid. It does not wait for the slow methods of conscious reasoning. In fact, it can not employ them. Charles Haanel, The Master Key System.
